Full room with own private bath/shower for party who can lend hand with laundry, dishes, and keeping the house clean. Rent reduced to $1/month (plus $225 for share of utilities) in return for handling the housework.

Family home has full facilities, fully equipped kitchen, laundry, pool, WiFi, etc. in nice area of Professorville neighborhood of Palo Alto. House is about 6 blocks from University Avenue and 5 blocks from Stanford.

Tenant room has its own balcony with French doors on second floor.

Stanford community welcome, but not required (owner is Stanford Graduate School of Business Alum).

We do have a small black cat, who is indoor/outdoor. The cat is super friendly and likes a lot of attention, so animal lovers are appreciated.

There is no separate external access for room, so entertaining/guests are limited and at discretion of owner.

Rent is $1/month when tenant is in town and doing the house upkeep (which takes around 10 hours per week).

When tenant is traveling, rent is $1,600/month prorated (for the days the tenant is not here) to allow for finding someone outside to keep the house up/housesit. Example: if tenant travels 5 days out of a given month, rent would be $1x25/30 days + $1,600x5/30 days = $267.50 for that month.
