Private room with shared bathroom available in 3 br/2ba apartment in the Allied Arts area of Menlo Park. This quaint apartment is located close to Stanford (11 minute bike, 9 minute drive) – especially the Med School campus. It is also close to many parks and is within walking distance of Safeway, Trader Joe’s and Draegers for easy access to groceries.

The room is the smallest (and cheapest!) bedroom on the second floor of the apartment. It shares the bathroom which is right next to the room with one other occupant (F). The room currently nicely fits a queen bed, desk and dresser with lots of closet space and the current occupant has been working from home with no issues! The room will be unfurnished, though the current occupant would be willing to sell some of the furnishings to the incoming occupant if you're looking for things (she's moving in with her boyfriend, we're sad to see her go!)

The apartment is a corner apartment with a spacious side patio and front garden. The kitchen and living room are currently furnished – but we’re open to you bringing some of your own to round things out. Importantly, the apartment is pet friendly and we have two kittens, Hodgkin and Huxley who are very friendly. Individuals with pets will be considered, but they need to all get along for everyone's sake! The laundry is coin operated, and off-street (in complex) parking has an extra fee – but there is a local park a 1 minute walk away that has free parking that we use – though the apartment is very bike friendly and you don’t really need to have a car here if you don’t want to.

The apartment is occupied by two women in their late 20’s – both Stanford Biosciences PhD students, both vaccinated. Both of us work from home sometimes during the week because of COVID so we’re looking for someone who will be respectful of the quiet hours during the workday. We’re both kind, friendly, and respectful of other people’s space and things and are looking for someone who will be the same. We would also like someone who is COVID careful, but we understand that times are hard and we don’t expect total isolation as long as everyone is being safe and minimizing risk - vaccination, mask wearing in dense crowds / airplanes, etc.

We really like living in this apartment – the proximity to Stanford really can’t be beat, and the price is really low for the neighborhood. The neighborhood is very safe and I often take walks in the evening. It’s a very special place and we’re hoping to find someone who will be a good fit. The room will be available Oct 1 (current occupant moving out around Sept 25, so some wiggle room there).
