I'm renting out the master bedroom of a 1-bedroom apartment in the very nice Oak Creek apartment complex across the street from Stanford. The apartment is 820 square feet, with a nice balcony, and I (male research assistant at Stanford) live in the living room. The Oak Creek Apartments come with a large gym, four smaller pools and a large lap pool, 3 private tennis courts (I'm a big tennis player), and plenty more amenities. The apartment is also in a great location within the complex: it's in the south end of the 1520 Sand Hill Road building, which is by the clubhouse and by Stock Farm Road to campus. The apartment comes with appliances, the kitchen has everything you'd need, and your room has a queen bed and a desk (I'm not sure what my current roommate will keep).
After looking at a lot of places that were more expensive and less convenient, I came up with the idea of splitting this one-bedroom. The floorplan is great for turning the living room into a bedroom; I put a bookcase between the entrance and the living room (see the floorplan photo). There's a dining table at the other end, adjacent to the kitchen.
A little about myself: I work as a research assistant in the economics department, for a professor who studies inequality. I'm passionate about economics, public policy, and history, and I used to work on Democratic political campaigns. For fun, I play tennis and ski; I also enjoy card and board games. For some roommate-related info, I am male, pretty clean, don't cook a lot, and don't smoke, but I don't care whether any of those things describe you. Couples would also be welcome. Rent doesn't include utilities/Internet, which we'd split (an additional $100 or so).
Hope to hear from you!
