$2500/month for a detached large bedroom about 12 x 20 feet, with en suite half bath and minifridge/sink/microwave/toaster oven for rent on a month-to-month basis, available for a 12-18 month time frame. The shower and washer/dryer are in the main house, and accessible across the garden path, via back French doors. The house is located 1.1 miles/23 min walk (as per Google Maps) from the RWC CalTrain station in a quiet Mt. Carmel neighborhood. Close to Whole Foods, walkable to neighborhood amenities of all kinds, about 4.5 miles north of Stanford campus.

Who lives here: grad-school-attending 46 yo Mom, 14 yo twin sisters, and a 6 yo Labrador retriever. Mom is a nurse at the neighborhood hospital and kids are sporty, friendly 9th graders who alternate living with Mom/Dad every other week. Doggy is an affectionate shedder who woofs occasionally and does usual dog stuff. You must be a pro-dog, or at least a dog-ish, person! He often hangs out in the back garden during the day so you would be responsible for making sure the gate is securely latched upon departure/arrival.

We have had several WONDERFUL people join our household in the last few years who are willing to chat with you about what it's like to stay here, if you are interested. As three women, we prefer a female, and we also request no overnight guests. This ad is for ONE person, not a couple. If a friend or family member comes to visit for a night or two, that is fine! Rent is $2500/month and includes a garage parking space/storage, utilities, and internet. You will be welcome to utilize our kitchen, as needed. You will have privacy, and some interaction with us, due to the shared downstairs shower and laundry. We have some furniture for the room, or please bring your own. There is forced-air wall heat and no A/C. The room can get warm during the hot months of the year- we use fans.
