Each Wednesday for the past four Wednesdays, I've run the farthest I've ever run in my life. Today will be a 20-miler along the beautiful Stanford Dish trail. I'm looking forward to running through Big Sur and along Highway 1 this April for my first marathon of my life.
I'm motivated by the amazing work that the Allyson Whitney Foundation does to support young adults with cancer. In the three years I've been a medical student at the University of Michigan (visiting Stanford for a research year), I've seen how much financial strain chronic illness can create for patients, and this is all too much a problem for young people in particular.
If you're able to, please consider a contribution to the fundraiser, which not only benefits biomedical research for rare cancer, but also provides young adult cancer patients with micro-grants for lost wages, missed rent, and hotel costs associated with their treatments, infusions, and numerous follow-up appointments. My goal is to raise $1,500. Any donation is extremely appreciated. <3
