My partner, Mia (any pronouns), and I (she/they) are looking for a roommate to join her place, a two-bedroom one-bath apartment at CitySouth in San Mateo to move in on 9/18/22.
About Us:
We’re a quiet, calm lesbian couple. One of us works in student affairs at Stanford and the other at a neuroscience lab in Menlo Park. In our spare time we like trying new coffee/pastry places, watching movies, and going about our own separate hobbies. I’m into anime, kdramas and playing Fortnite and Mia loves video games, comic books, and going to the gym. We have a small-medium-sized Jack Russell Terrier mix named Iris, she’s very sweet and likes begging for food and ignoring the toys we buy for her.
About the Apartment & Community:
The apartment has two bedrooms with large closets and one bathroom. The room pictured (with a walk-in closet) is the room available and will be cleared by move in. We're planning on adding more shelving and storage space in the entry closet, hall closet, and bathroom since there will be three of us. We don’t mind if you smoke but you will need to go outside the gated area since there’s no smoking inside the community. Our apartment is located right outside of the nearest foot entrance.
The apartment is gated and has on-site parking in reserved spaces (+$75/month), air conditioning, in-unit laundry, a gym, a swimming pool, a dog park, fire-pits/covered outdoor lounge areas, parcel lockers, and a community lounge-like area. There’s also a larger dog park nearby and right across the street there’s a grocery store and some restaurants and other miscellaneous shops. There’s several bus stops about half a block away that go to the nearby colleges, stores, etc. if you don’t have a car and the Caltrain Hillsdale Station is readily accessible by either bus, bike, or foot.
Finances:
Rent will be ~$1200/month for a 12-month lease (since we’ll be signing the lease together this may be negotiable depending on lease term, we can talk about it). Utilities have typically been about $200 each including Internet. You must be able to provide proof of income and employment (total household income needs to be 2.8x monthly rent) and be added to the lease. Since one of us is a current resident, there will be no deposit, only a $50/person application fee + prorated amount of first month’s rent based on lease start date.
