$1,365
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for an awesome roommate to join my 12-month lease in a 2 bd 1 ba apartment in Mountain View. The lease begins August 15th.
About me:
I’m a 22-year-old man who just moved to the Bay Area to start a research job at Stanford. I grew up on the West Coast but went to college back East. I work on campus five days a week and will take classes during the academic year. I like to spend my free time at the beach, reading, cooking, road cycling, and visiting friends in other parts of California. I am very clean and tidy and have always had a great relationship with my roommates. I occasionally have friends visit/stay over, but I never throw parties and am very respectful of my roommates’ space.
About the place:
The apartment is one of four in a small building on a quiet street in Mountain View. The monthly rent is $2,730 ($1,365 each). The landlord covers sewer, cold water, and hot water, leaving you and me to split internet and PG&E. There’s a larger bedroom and a smaller bedroom, and I’m open to discussing who takes which. The place is currently unfurnished, so you’d be responsible for furnishing your room. If you’ve got furniture for the communal spaces, that’s also great!
Vinyl hardwood flooring throughout. Big kitchen with a skylight and lots of storage. Brand new central AC/heat unit. On-site coin-op laundry. The gardens around the property are maintained immaculately. It’s about 6 miles from Stanford and 1 mile from the Mountain View Caltrain station. Two parking spots are included.
I have yet to move in, but the landlord has responded quickly and been very accommodating so far. It’s overall a great place, and the rent is below-market.
What I’m looking for in a roommate:
Clean, tidy, relatively quiet, and open to sharing chores weekly. I’m partial to a woman roommate since I’ve only lived with women in the past, but I’m open to all genders. I’ve been good friends with my past roommates, and I’d love someone who likes to occasionally cook, have movie nights, and get outside with their roommate. You must have a steady source of income and be willing to stay through August 2023. Proof of income and credit history are required. No couples, per the landlord.
If this seems like a good fit, send me a message! I’d love to meet you in person to see if we click. Once we’ve connected and I know you’re not a scammer, I’m happy to share photos of the place as well as the address.
