** Need animal caretaker (part-time job). **
We need someone between 1-7 days per week to take care of the 501c3 rescue birds as well as the pet chinchillas, frogs, and chickens. The work totals about 6-8 hours per week. More than 8 hours of work may be available if you wish to do extra chores.
** Location is: ** 2 minutes east of 280, just off Alameda de las Pulgas, near Woodside high school.
** 1-day schedule option: **
--> Once a week, do the main chores (cleaning flights and enclosures) over a period of 4-6 hours (from approximately 11am-5pm). Also, clean out food and water feeders, and add fresh food and water.
** 4-day schedule option: **
--> Once a week, do the main chores (cleaning flights and enclosures) over a period of 3-4 hours (from approximately noon-4pm).
--> ** 3 days a week ** (roughly every other day) spend about 1 hour doing food/water/cleaning chores (from approximately 7:30-8:30 am OR 7:30-8:30 pm).
** 7-day schedule option: **
--> Same as above, but also including another 3 days a week of chores that only take about 15-30 minutes (from approximately 7:30-8:30 am OR 7:30-8:30 pm).
Extra hours of work (for example, yard work, and side chores) may be available if you are looking for additional work.
** Looking for someone who can commit to work for at least 6 months, ideally at least 1 year. **
• Must not be afraid to get dirty.
• Must love animals. Must be able to move 50 pounds.
• Must be extremely reliable and commit to the schedule, because the health of the animals will depend on you.
• May not be ideal for someone with allergies to animals or hay.
** Pay depends on experience.** Starting pay during training is $16-18/hr. Once trained and self-sufficient, pay may increase to $20-24/hr.
You may choose to work for the pay listed above for all work done, or you may choose to volunteer for the 501c3 bird rescue (volunteer hours for school, and a letter of recommendation may be provided to you at the completion of an internship), or you may choose a combination of volunteering with the rescues and payment for the pet chores.
