As an intern at ** BCAF.digital,** you will be responsible for developing a web scraper using ** Python or Ruby.** Your primary task will be to gather data from select comic book websites, including information about the books, along with links to their cover images and zipped versions of the comic books. The scraped data will be compiled and organized into an Excel spreadsheet for further processing and loading into our SaaS platform.

This internship position is a one-month project, with the possibility of extension based on performance and mutual agreement. The intern will be compensated with a competitive stipend or hourly rate commensurate with experience and skills.

** Requirements:**

• Solid programming skills in Python or Ruby, with a strong emphasis on web scraping techniques.
• Familiarity with libraries and frameworks commonly used for web scraping, such as BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, or Nokogiri.
• Proficiency in working with HTML and CSS to navigate and extract data from web pages.
• Experience with data manipulation and organization using Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate extraction of data and handling of various edge cases.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
