We are looking for someone to sublease a bedroom for one year in our spacious two-bedroom apartment in downtown Palo Alto.

About us:
The unit is currently rented by a married couple in their 30s. J is an attorney and pianist, whose work is taking him to Houston, Texas for one year starting this August. A is a historian completing one more year of a postdoc at Stanford University. A has been in the Bay for over ten years and can help you get acquainted with Palo Alto, SF, and East Bay. She usually works on her laptop from home, nearby cafes, or campus, and visits with friends in SF a few times a week. She will be traveling back and forth between Palo Alto and Houston this coming year, so you will get the entire apartment to yourself much of the time.

About the unit:
We are subleasing one bedroom in our two-bedroom 1100 sq ft unit in a ten-unit building just off of University Ave. It's a 15 minute walk to Caltrain or the shuttle to campus, and even less to shops and restaurants on University.

The whole apartment is a two bed, two bath. You would occupy the second bedroom (10ft by15ft), which has a two door closet and direct access to the sunroom/balcony. You would also get primary access to the main bathroom off the hallway. The unit has updated appliances, granite counters in the bathrooms, skylights throughout, and large windows in most rooms. There is a washer and dryer in unit. We've decorated in a mid-century modern style, and have some heirloom furniture and art throughout the house. There is always street parking available close by. We also have a small storage unit on the ground floor that you can make use of.

The bedroom you would occupy will be unfurnished (we will move the piano that is currently in the pictures!). It has a normal locking door on one wall, and lockable pocket doors on another wall that can open onto the living room.

We're looking for someone:

• who can stay for one year, beginning in August 2023
• who is clean, quiet, and responsible, and will treat the shared spaces with care

Our ideal move-in date is between August 7th - 16th. Your portion of the rent is $2000/month.
