Price: $1,600
I am looking for a housemate, preferably female, for my 4 bedroom, 3 bath house in Palo Alto. The house is located in the midtown area close to shopping, and within 3-4 miles of Stanford and Google, and a 10-15 minute walk from Caltrain. I am a medical professional in my early 50s and live in the house with my two friendly cats and two female roommates in her 20s and 30s are researchers working at Stanford. Please note that currently there is some repair work going on in the house which is independent of your room and bathroom, and should be completed very soon and is not very disruptive. I am looking for a friendly, flexible and clean housemate to join us.
The room is on the first floor with an attached bathroom and its own entrance if you prefer that. It is bright and airy with floor to ceiling windows. It comes with a queen mattress with bed , a book shelf, and some other basic furniture. The rent is $1600.
There are Ethernet ports for internet and shared wireless internet, cable in the living room, monthly cleaning service and a gardener every two weeks. There are nice outdoor areas to relax, including a home gym, barbecue and a fire pit to use if you're up to it and as long as you clean it after use.
I keep late hours, so if you sleep at 8 pm then we won't be a good fit. I do like to keep it quiet after 11:30 pm on most nights with some exceptions. I would like you to be clean and considerate of others in the house. No smoking, alcohol or recreational use, including marijuana. No overnight guests unless previously agreed with all occupants. No long term guests. You can bring over guests during the day time with prior permission. No pets. You can also do light cooking in the kitchen if you like although I don't have too many utensils.
Although the rooms have some basic furniture, you are welcome to bring your own.
In addition to the rent you would be paying 1/3 of utilities, which ends up being anywhere from $75-300 per month, depending on the season and use of central heat / air conditioning. I would need one month's rent as security deposit prior to move in, and for you to either bring in a background check yourself or pay a $30 fee for me to do it for you. The room is available to rent now on a month to month lease.
If you think you would be a good fit, please email/ text/ call.
