Price: $1,650
I’m a PhD student posting for a friend/affiliate.
“ I live in a 2 bed 1 bath apartment in Menlo park with my two cats. The room I need to fill is the master bedroom (11’6“ x 11’9“). Stanford’s campus is about 3.2 miles away, about a 15 - 20 minute drive from the apartment with a bus stop just down the street. Highway 101 is minutes away with close access to the Dumbarton bridge. Gas stations are very close by with a park with tennis courts a short walk away.
Utilities are not included in the rent and come out to about $180 - 220 (splitting $360-440 total) per month (water and sewage, gas and electricity, renters insurance, and internet). I am looking for someone to move in starting April 1 and finish out the lease that ends in Sept 2026; there is potential to sign up for a new lease or to move out by that time.
The apartment is a second floor unit at the end of the building, so only sharing a wall with one other unit. The apartment has a balcony that I haven’t done anything with, so far, so I’m willing to explore what can be included on there. The unit comes with an on-site storage space and assigned parking spots. There is a shared laundry room on-site with 3 washers and dryers that cost minimum $3 per load and unfortunately only takes quarters. The property is gated between the hours of 7:00 pm - 7:00 am and require a code for entry.
The room to be rented will be fully unfurnished upon move-in date, but there will be some furnished space in the shared living room that we can negotiate on, if needed.
It’s important for my future roommate to like or love cats because they will most likely try to invade your space and love you once you earn their trust LOL. Litter boxes will be kept in my room to respect the cleanliness of the shared space. I would need the roommate to be mindful of not having food they could eat loose around the house for their health. I will do my best to accommodate and be responsible for any messes that may incur from them.
About the roomies
I work full-time as a case manager in San Jose, and I am a full-time student working to get my masters in social work. I am usually out of the house between 6:00 am - 8:00 am and get home around 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. I can enjoy being quiet and independent while I enjoy my hobbies such as drawing, reading, photography, scrolling on my phone, listening to music, lifting weights, jiu-jitsu, muay thai, hiking, and watching TV (not necessarily in that order haha). If my future roommate likes any of these activities, I would
like to enjoy their company and hang out! :)”
Edit: I think the lease may be extended to 12 months instead just until September 2026. Please reach out for more info.
