Price: $1,400
The house: just three blocks from university ave but very private as it is tucked away in the middle of a block, not within sight of the street. Full kitchen, on-site washer and dryer (in the garage, not coin-operated), spacious living and dining areas, lots of private parking space, open backyard either many fruit trees and a grill. Hardwood floors throughout. You can store stuff in the garage that you don’t want cluttering your room
Your housemates: two current Stanford employees in their mid-20s, and an engineering professional working at a startup in his mid-20s. Everyone has their own bedroom. One room has a private bath, so you’d be sharing the remaining bath with two others.
Your room: truly enormous 265 sq ft bedroom with vaulted ceiling and tons of natural light, and your own private entrance (sliding door - I don’t use it and keep it blocked with furniture, but you could make a different decision). The room doesn’t have a built-in closet but does come with a freestanding wardrobe to hang clothes in and a dresser. Will also come further furnished with a queen size bed frame & mattress, lounge chair, and sofa (these were mine and not the landlord’s, so you don’t have to keep them if you don’t want). And the enormous room has plenty of room for more furniture (you could add a desk, more dressers, and another couch and it still would not feel cramped).
The details: I am the room’s current occupant, and am moving out. You would be replacing me on the lease which runs through. We’ve renewed the lease every year for the past several years, but it would be up to you, your housemates, and the landlord on where to go from there this time. Rent is $1400/month, which includes garbage service. All other utilities (electric, gas, water, internet) are split with the housemates, and generally run about $100 per person per month. Other expense would be $1000 to buy out my portion of the security deposit. Landlord lives locally and is very friendly and responsive to issues.
Ideally I am looking for someone who wants to move in early May. The current room has some furniture(coffee table, desk, chair, futon couch) that I wouldn’t mind giving for cost-basis.
