Condition: Clean title only. Must be mechanically sound (no active check engine lights, major leaks, or severe oil consumption).
Budget: $8,000 to $12,000 cash, depending on the year and mileage.

The Process:
To keep things transparent, I will ask for the VIN to run a CARFAX and request a quick pre-purchase inspection with a local mechanic. If it gets a clean bill of health, I have the funds ready and can use AAA to make the DMV title transfer completely hassle-free.
