Oklahoma State soccer coaches Karen Hancock and Colin Carmichael finished runner-up as National Coach of the Year by Soccer Buzz Magazine, it was announced today. The coaching tandem finished second behind North Carolina's Anson Dorrance. Dorrance led the Tarheels to the school's 18th national championship as they closed the season on a 27-game winning streak. Oklahoma State improved from a ninth-place finish in the Big 12 in 2005 to finish second in the league this season. The Cowgirls finished the season with a 17-3-3 record and won the first NCAA Tournament game in school history. OSU was ranked No. 12 in the final poll released by Soccer Buzz. The Cowgirls were led by Yolanda Odenyo who was named a first team All-American by both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and Soccer Buzz.
