If this is your first time in Stanford, you need to know two things:

• The nights get very cold here, even in summer.
• Stanford administration doesn't fire up the heaters until November and they turn them off around mid April.

So, every house needs an electric heater. We used this small yet very effective Honeywell heater for about 1.5 years. The only reason we are not taking it with us to Seattle is because our apartment has its own A/C.
