What: Bloomberg Assessment Test (BAT)

Hey Everyone,

Bloomberg has invited us to participate in the Bloomberg Assessment Test (BAT), a new, global, standardized assessment measuring financial knowledge and a variety of skills and abilities relevant to the world of professional finance. The BAT is designed to connect employers with students looking for careers in finance. The BAT will:

• Allow you to advertise your availability and score to 20,000 global financial employers (if you choose). Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, UBS, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and HSBC are examples of employers that have recently used the BAT database to search for recruits.
• Give you an independent assessment of your skills, knowledge, and areas for improvement, as well as the finance role which might best suit someone with your abilities.
• Enable you to compare yourself to peers at your university, in your region, and around the world.

In addition, Bloomberg will consider the top 15% performers for interviews for internships and full-time positions.

The BAT is FREE this semester only and will be held on May 17th at Stanford. You can learn more about the test and sign up at www.bloomberginstitute.com. Seats are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Key Points:

• BRING A LAPTOP. The test is administered online.
• You may leave early. The test has a 3 hour limit, but people can definitely complete it in less time.
• Try to get there a little early so that we can get everyone signed in.
• No preparation is necessary. The test is so broad, that targeted prep would be tough anyway.
• The test is open to students of all majors, years, and backgrounds. You do not need to have done financial work in the past and UNDERCLASSMEN ARE ENCOURAGED to participate now. Grad students and graduates are also encouraged to take the test.
• You have the option to withhold your scores if you don't do as well as you expected. The test can be your own indicator of where you need to focus your attention.
• The test is FREE for this quarter only. However, anyone who takes the test now can retake it for FREE in the future.
