We're looking for a new housemate to fill an empty room in our modern and conveniently located house! I'll be moving out in the next month to attend grad school and we're looking for someone to move in around August 1st. First, a bit about the place before we fill in some details about ourselves.

This house is a large 2200 square foot, two-story home that sits on a spacious 4600 square foot lot. It has a great location in a quiet family neighborhood with immediate access to Highway 101, Palo Alto, and the Dumbarton Bridge. For the commuters, there's a new bike bridge a street over that helps you jump across 101 safely, there are plenty of bus stops, and Caltrain can be reached easily by going down University Ave. Stanford, Amazon, Google, Facebook and the FBI are all a short drive away. The house itself includes virtually all modern accommodations including:

• a full kitchen with a gas stove and granite counters
• AC for the warm summers and heating for the winter
• high ceilings throughout the house
• hardwood floors on the ground level and carpet on the 2nd story
• a great backyard with fruit trees and space to enjoy time outside
• large common areas including a living room and entryway
• plenty of parking with a 2-car garage, 2-car driveway and lots of curbside spots
• plenty of storage space in the open common areas, garage, and various closets

The room that is available is:

• 11' x 10'
• Has great natural sunlight during the day
• Includes a closet for private storage
• Has unrestricted access to the rest of the house (except bedrooms, obviously)
• Rent is $1162 per month
• Deposit is $920
• Monthly utilities and shared costs (ie cleaning supplies) are about $70 per month per person
• In house washer and dryer

About us:

Most of us moved into this house 3 years ago and we've jived together surprisingly well given our diverse backgrounds. Your future housemates include one guy and three girls living here along with a mellow cat. We are all in our mid 20's to early 30's (maybe 10 for the cat?). Our backgrounds are quite broad and range from teaching kindergarten to 3D printing automotive parts. Pre-COVID, we had mixed interests outside of work that range from camping and off-roading to enjoying the night life in SF, but thing have changed quite a bit.
