Hi there! I am seeking a new roommate in a great 2 bedroom apartment. All the details are below.
My current roommate is moving in with her boyfriend and I am looking for a new roommate to move into our spacious and comfortable 2 bedroom apartment. The ideal move in date is February 1st but we can be flexible if you would like to move in earlier or later. We would then sign a one-year lease together (you could also have the option to sign a 6 month lease, through August, with the option to renew).
About me: I am a female in my mid-20s and seek a female roommate in her 20s or 30s. Originally from SoCal, I recently graduated from Stanford’s Teacher Education Program and work as a high school Social Studies teacher. I am friendly, responsible, considerate, laid-back, and clean, and seek the same in my new roommate. It would an added bonus if you are a teacher, too. My teaching schedule keeps me busy and while I do value alone time to relax at home, I am also excited to get to know my new roommate and share meals or tea together, offer you first-dibs on my homemade baked goods, and even host a board game night for friends together, if this is something that you enjoy, too.
About the apartment: The apartment is located on a quiet street just two blocks away from Santa Clara University and downtown Santa Clara. More specifically, the apartment is located on a quiet and safe block of single family homes and this is the only apartment building on the street. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet. There is ample street parking available as well as one parking spot for the unit that we can share. The apartment is a spacious 2 bedroom/1 bathroom on the second (and top) floor of a building with only 5 other units. The corner/top floor location of the apartment makes for a quiet space with nice views. As for the neighbors, the landlord tends to welcome quiet tenants who are professionals or graduate students. Smoking and pets are not allowed in the complex.
The living room and kitchen are fairly spacious and there are a lot of windows that let in natural light. The living room and dining area are already fully furnished. The kitchen contains a refrigerator, microwave and electric stove/oven. Both the bathroom and the kitchen were updated in the last 4 years. The room you would be moving into easily fits a full or queen size bed, has a large dual pane window that faces north-west and lets in natural sunlight, and there is lots of storage space in the room due to its three-sliding-door closet. There is also additional storage space in the apartment that you can use. It may also be possible to negotiate leaving my current roommate’s bedroom furniture for you.
Finally: The monthly rent is $1088 and we will split the monthly electricity, gas, and wifi bills. Hot/cold water and garbage are paid by the landlord. There is an onsite coin operated laundry room with a washer and a dryer on the first floor of the building. The security deposit is $1,000 for your share. The landlord will also need to run a credit check before you can sign any leasing paperwork.
