I am an infectious disease fellow at Stanford, currently looking for a roommate to share my very affordable 2-bedroom apartment as part of a year-long lease.
The room: Small, 10 x 10 roughly with a medium size closet, carpeted. Rent is 850 per month, shared utilities (about 75 a month which includes electric and internet and TV). There is street parking. The rent tends to go up 100 dollars total each year, so your rent may increase to 900 per month in October or November. Upfront, you will need to fill out forms with references and be approved by the manager. You will also need to provide a deposit which should be 850 dollars (although that has been changing). The room is available starting now.
The apartment: I’ve been here since 2007 and I love it! It’s located at 1036 Colorado Ave. in Palo Alto, 4 miles from Stanford campus, at the Kona Apartment Building. It’s a great bike ride to campus and I commute on my bike every day. It’s quiet, close to 101 but without traffic noise. The apartment building is not fancy but has a dishwasher, a decent pool, and is next to a large park. Coin operated laundry is just down the stairs (I’m on the 2nd floor). The apartment floor plan is large, 700 sq feet with a small balcony overlooking trees. Please note: there is not a lot of storage space in the apartment.
About me: I’m 38 years old, female, a former Stanford medical student, Stanford medicine resident, and now Stanford infectious diseases fellow in my 3rd year of fellowship. I am quiet, respectful, kind and mature, laid back but neat, I keep the common areas clean. I am progressive and queer and have a boyfriend who stays over almost every night.
About you: I am looking for someone who is also quiet, respectful, kind and mature, laid back but neat, progressive and queer friendly. Someone who has lived on their own before too! No big parties please! Would prefer a female but would consider a really cool guy as well.
