Hello housing seekers!
We are a group of young semi-professionals (engineers & googlers) with an open bedroom in our home in Los Altos Hills. The pictures speak for themselves, but if you're not a flora and/or fauna aficionado, do take note of the location on the map (couple hundred feet to open space)!
Us:
Two google X-ers (Rosie & Dennis), one mechanical engineer (Eric) and one dog (Bailey), all in our late twenties/very early thirties (except for the dog). We are all early-career young people with unreasonably lofty aspirations, so we spend most of the week working and weekends catching up & cooling off. We all have various interests; mine predominantly consist of music art fly fishing hiking swimming cycling golfing and internally-combusted wheeled things, Rosie is a runner and dog-thing-doer, Dennis is (from what I hear) very decent at Kite surfing. Bailey is a medium-sized fetch fanatic and I believe an australian/belgian shepherd mix; holler if this information is critical. More dogs are welcome provided they're able to avoid becoming lunch for the local fauna, and while we have the utmost respect for predatory felines (snow leopards, mountain lions), we (I) have an allergy- and toxoplasmosis-induced aversion to house cats (sorry!).
The House:
Again, pictures & words. 4 beds, 3 baths, office, garage, salt water pool (lovely on the skin), wisteria-covered patio & yard (work, relax, entertain, whatever) on several acres that extends down into and includes part of the nearby woods. A bunch of trees and 1 row of houses separate us from Rancho San Antonio open space preserve (two trail heads within 1500ft of the front door). The house is fully furnished down to the kitchenware, including queen beds and desks in each room. Office space with patio access separates the garage and 4th bedroom from the kitchen, though it gets the most use as a (very informal) yoga studio. Solar panels up on the roof to catch the sunlight and keep the bills down (+nest thermostat). There are hand-crafted ceramics (including kitchenware) throughout and surrounding the home (homeowner is an artist/jeweler). Projector & screen in living room; house is wired for sound inside & out. All bathrooms have been renovated down to the tiles.
The Room
...in question is the master of the house with west and south-facing windows (bunch of sun!) complete with hardwood floors, walk-through closet (en route to bathroom) and, obviously, a private bathroom. Desk, armoire, bed, coat closet big sliding door closet, dressers and light fixtures are included. An educated sizing guesstimate puts it at about 12x15 in the main room + an additional 75 sq ft split between the room's entry way, closet, and bathroom.
Logistics:
Our lease renews on 7/23, so we would offer a pro-rated monthly lease heading towards a yearly lease starting 7/23. Flexible lease end term, we are happy to remain month-to-month if that suits you, though we'd love to find a good fit for the longer term. Dogs welcome, cats less so. 15-20 minute drive to Stanford campus, traffic dependent. Can avoid 280 if necessary (take Page Mill, it's a much prettier drive anyway). Rent is 2200/month + utilities and occasional gardening/cleaning. If you'd like I can share with you a video tour that I was given to give you a better idea of the space.
If you are interested, shoot us a few details about yourself, two things you'd never put in a dishwasher, plans for the next year and any questions you may have, and we'll go from there!
Happy hunting,
eric
