I am looking for a current MD student or graduate student or alumni with substantial writing/editing experience to proofread/edit secondary essays for my medical school application. I plan to apply to a minimum of 10 schools. Will pay per secondary. Edits can be done fully remotely. Mainly just looking for an extra pair of eyes to review essays and provide edits within 1-2 days turnaround time.

-27 year old nontraditional applicant
-Black, Hispanic, First-generation college student
-Passionate about serving rural communities, unhoused patients, service-learning, translational research, and health systems science

Overall theme: I aim to develop interventions that prevent health emergencies in vulnerable patient populations and improve outcomes for patients who are experiencing a health emergency.

Translational Research interests:

  1. Studying how metabolism shapes immune cell function to enhance immunotherapy outcomes, specifically for solid tumors.
  2. Developing interventions to restore immune function disrupted by metabolic conditions or chronic/sustained stress (i.e.man made or natural disaster, episode of homelessness, etc) .
  3. Developing immunotherapies that train the immune system to combat cardiovascular disease.
  4. Developing new therapies to minimize risk of PTSD, depression, anxiety for patients who have experience an acute traumatic event (i.e. loss of family/friends, abuse/neglect).

Health System Science Research Interests:

  1. Studying the impact of interdisciplinary healthcare teams (medical, legal, social work) on patient outcomes.
  2. Designing and evaluating healthcare delivery models improve adherence to SUD treatment and annual preventative health screening for marginalized patient populations.
  3. Developing and evaluating Emergency Department based interventions that can break cycles of ER recidivism for unhoused patients.
  4. Evaluating the impact of integrating treatment plans into jail and prison sentences as well as after release.
