When I was interviewing a potential part-time nanny last week, she told me that, in her experience, "babies like to be left alone." Because I'm not a fan of awkward situations, I smiled through it and continued the interview even though I knew I wouldn't be hiring her.

Our daughter cannot be awake for more than 2 hours at a time without needing to nap, so you would only be working 2 hours a day, 5 days a week. If you want to work more than 2 hours per day, we'll pay you to hang out (send texts, tweet, catch up on emails, study, like things on Facebook/Instagram) while she naps so you'll be there to play with her when she wakes up.
