The common spaces are comfortably furnished with a fold-out couch, armchairs, an extendible dining table, and a fully stocked kitchen.
The apartment includes a private washer/dryer, secure bike storage, a private parking space, and access to the patio area. There’s an efficent heating/AC system with wireless controls, and LED lights throughout with dimmers.
You will share the apartment with one couple, who are public school teachers in their mid 20’s. One is a recent Stanford School of Education grad, the other is currently getting a teaching credential while working at an afterschool program. They’re friendly, open minded, and easy to get along with. They enjoy cooking, quiet music, and being outdoors. You’ll find they respect your space, but are also open to socializing over food or a movie during the evenings.
The apartment is in downtown San Mateo (Tilton Ave. & N. Ellsworth Ave.), an easy 2 block walk from Caltrain, which gets you to San Francisco or Palo Alto within 25-30 minutes. Popular eateries such as Phillz Coffee, Curry Up Now, and CREAM are all within a 3 block walk. A block further is a Century movie theatre, and the heart of downtown San Mateo with many varieties of restaurants, cafes, bars, and stores. There’s a Safeway within a 3 minute drive, and Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods are 10 minutes away.
