The house:
Large 2750 sq. ft. home with open common spaces and spacious modern kitchen. Drive way parking (first-come first-serve) and loads of free street way parking. A 3-car garage used for shared gym/bike/gear/surfboard storage and project space. Large dining room, living room, lots of seating. Basement movie room and lounging area. Backyard space with outdoor dining area, propane grill, tiered-garden with fruit trees. Solar panels which help keep electricity bill low.

The room:
Carpeted with a medium closet (there is also loads of storage space in the rest of the house), sliding door access to a shared balcony, a shared bathroom with two others (cleaners come biweekly), and furniture takeover.

The location:
Located on a hill in a dead-end street in the quiet neighborhood of Ladera. About a 10-15 minute drive to Stanford, Menlo park and Palo Alto. Freeway access 3 min away for weekend trips. About a 15-20 minute (e-)bike ride to campus. Many hiking / biking / running trails nearby in Portola Valley, community centers, library. Bianchini's market, a handful of restaurants, a post office and gas station are located at entrance to the neighborhood. Alpine Inn (beer garden) just down the road.

The People:
We're a group of (international) Stanford postdocs who enjoy the outdoors (climbing, skiing, biking, etc.), crafting, baking, cooking meals, and hosting occasional dinner parties. We look forward to welcoming someone who will appreciate a laid-back, friendly atmosphere with five other housemates. The house is very spacious!

We do live with a rescue dog who is slow to warm up (but not aggressive!) so if you are afraid of dogs this might not be the place for you!
