Ok so it's not really a ranch, but a house in the suburbs on 1/4 acre with different pets and rescues.

10 minutes north of Stanford, just off Alameda de las Pulgas.

We're looking for a live-in caretaker of the pets, rescues, and also someone who can babysit our little one and do some cleaning, yard work, and general errands.

Pay is free rent and free utilities (water/garbage/cable/gas/electric/internet), plus possible negotiable pay for extra work if you want to do additional work.

Your in-law unit is approx 450 sq ft with private entrance, small private yard, full bath with large tub and shower, washer, dryer, kitchen with sink, refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave. New hardwood floors. Marble tile in bathroom. Nice neighborhood.

Feed, water, clean, look after our pets and the rescues (we run a non-profit rescue). It can be a dirty job on cleaning days, but you usually get to choose which days are cleaning days. Must be comfortable cleaning up bird poop, chinchilla poop, dog poop, etc.

Daily care for foster birds, pet birds, chinchillas, frogs, etc
Help with 3 large dogs
Babysitting our 4 year old son
Housecleaning, yard work, errands

Estimating 14-18 hrs per week in exchange for free rent and utilities. Most work will be feeding and cleaning up the animals. If you wish to do additional chores, then we can pay you (in addition to the free rent and utilities).

One reason we are looking for a live-in is because there are minor things that need to be done every day, but those things only take a few minutes... Every morning you must spend a few minutes giving fresh water and food to the rescues.

The second reason we are looking for a live-in is because we would like someone to be "on call" and available to babysit or petsit on short notice. That is much easier accomplished when someone already lives at the house.

Most of the other chores can be done on a flexible schedule of your choice during daylight hours.

Must love animals and be dedicated to the work, and not just accept the position for free rent.

Must be responsible and detail oriented. This job must be top priority, as the animals' lives are in your hands. So if you already have a full time job elsewhere, this arrangement probably won't work. If you have a part time job or are a student, then this could work.

For example, this job is perfect for a college student that needs a free place to stay, in exchange for working and being available to babysit / petsit on short notice.

The in-law can be furnished or not furnished, depending on what you need.

No smoking at all..... that includes pot.

Parking is on the street. There is typically lots of parking right in front of the house.
