I'm looking for 2 roommates who are interested in signing a one-year lease in the 3bed/3bath townhouse where I live in Redwood City, bordering Atherton.
The Two Bedrooms:
Master Suite: The rent is $1250/month plus shared utilities. I am looking for a single occupant (the landlord doesn't want a fourth person). However, if a couple wanted to rent this room, there is a chance we could make this work, though rent would be much higher and we could use the smaller room as a guest room or office (this is how it has been for the last two years). The room is enormous and is currently being used as an office and bedroom for two people. The sleeping area is a connected alcove at one end. The room also has a large walk-in closet, second smaller closet, and private master bathroom. This space would be a great fit for someone who does a lot of work from home, needs extra storage or simply likes extra room and privacy. One point to consider is that there is currently construction going on out back starting at 7am Monday-Friday, so if you are a light sleeper and want to sleep much past 7am, this might be inconvenient for a while.
Smaller Room: The rent will be $750. This is the only downstairs bedroom. There is a full bathroom next to it which is also used by the house but mainly belongs to the downstairs occupant in terms of showering, etc.
My Room: This room is larger than the downstairs room but smaller than the Master Suite. It has a bathroom next to it which is mainly used by me but also can be used by the house.
The house is spacious and well-maintained. There is a gas fireplace in the living room, open kitchen and dining area and a patio out back. There is a two-car garage that provides storage space and includes a washer/dryer. There is also a shared pool area. I've loved living here which is why I want to fill the place with roommates as opposed to moving out! It's 5.5 miles from Stanford, in Redwood City, right on the Atherton border at El Camino. The neighborhood feels safe and has many families in it.
I'm in my early 30's and work at Stanford. I'm looking to find roommates who are interested in a long-term living situation (at least a year lease but preferably longer). I enjoy having my home feel like a small community and would like to find people who are interested in sharing conversation, a drink or meal once in a while. Musicians particularly welcome :). I am pretty busy and am often out-and-about, but it's important to me to have a warm, friendly household to come home to.
The space will be available mid-December, with possible flexibility around move-in date.
The lease states that there is no smoking in the house and no pets allowed (sorry!).
