Position: Full Stack Engineer

Compensation: $150K-$200K base + annual performance bonus + early stage equity + benefits

Federato Technologies is a Series B startup based in San Francisco, CA backed company funded by some of the most prominent VCs in the Bay Area. We build software leveraging data and AI to enable large insurance carriers to improve their portfolio optimization and make insurance affordable again. You will be making fundamental development and architectural decisions each and every day and play a significant role in the company’s long term success. This is a remote position, but we do have an office in San Francisco.

The Role and Your Impact:

Develop, design, create, modify, and/or test software applications or systems for various products or software services
Develop a strong understanding of relevant product area, codebase, and/or systems
Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, programming, and software engineering
Produce high-quality code with good test coverage using modern abstractions and frameworks
Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Work independently, use available resources to get unblocked, and complete tasks on schedule by exercising strong judgment and problem solving skills
Master internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity
Mentor more junior developers and improve their overall capabilities
Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and other Software Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing products
Be able to work with customer empathy in ensuring that products and solutions meet their needs

Ideal Requirements:

Notable hands-on industry experience in full stack engineering
Willingness to get hands dirty across a broad variety of internal and client software
Highly proficient with with React and Typescript
Backend experience building complex backend systems. We use Python / Django but open to other server side languages such Node.js, Go, Rust, Elixir, Ruby etc
Familiarity with event backbone and job pool platforms (Kafka, etc)
Demonstrated ability to pick up new technologies quickly and learn on the spot
Experience in design and code reviews
University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field
