We are pleased to announce the launch of Stanford’s new Graduate Certificate in Environmental Humanities in the Division of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages (DLCL) this fall!
To celebrate the certificate and inaugurate the 2026–27 Environmental Humanities Project (EHP) year, themed “Situated Planetary Ecologies,” we invite you to the EHP launch event. The Environmental Humanities Project (EHP) is an interdisciplinary forum dedicated to exploring environmental imaginations and knowledge systems and it will serve as the hub for the new certificate. The event will bring together faculty, graduate students, and environmentally engaged research communities from across campus. Above all, we hope it will foster connections among PhD researchers, faculty, and collaborators in the Environmental Humanities. The event will start with a short introduction to the EHP and the EH certificate, followed by the leadership of Stanford’s interdisciplinary, environmentally engaged workshops introducing their projects and plans for the year. We will continue with a lively social mixer with music and dinner. We would be delighted to share this celebration with you! Please RSVP by Monday, September 28, 11:59 pm. Our warmest wishes, The Environmental Humanities Project Team.
This event is sponsored by the Stanford Humanities Center, Stanford Global Studies, and the DLCL.
