ABOUT LUXURY LINER
Luxury Liner is a project developed by artist Georg Dahled between June 2025 and June 2026, exploring language, travel, and the fragility of translation. During this period, Dahled travelled extensively. At numerous stops along his journeys, he mailed vintage postcards sourced from flea markets and antique shops to recipients around the world. Each card bears a stamped sentence that documents his attempts to learn or approximate the language of the place from which it was sent. As he appears to be in the process of learning and experimenting with each language, misspellings, grammatical errors, and mistranslations accumulate and mutate, turning linguistic failure into both method and material. A selection of the original postcards was presented in a solo exhibition at London’s Under the Spell Artspace in summer 2026.
