One of our housemates is moving out this December (2026), so her medium-sized room in our shared house will be opening up. The earliest move-in date is December 16th, and we’d love to find someone new to join us.
The location:
The house is in San Carlos, on a quiet, safe street. Restaurants, cafés, and bars are a short walk away, and the San Carlos Caltrain station is only about 5 minutes on foot. Stanford Oval is roughly 20 minutes away and San Francisco about 30, so getting to work is easy.
The home:
It’s a furnished two-story house with
-A sunny living room with a fireplace
-A balcony, plus an outdoor deck with a barbecue
-Three bathrooms, two of them recently renovated
-A separate office space for remote work
-A washer and dryer in the unit
The kitchen is well stocked and shared by everyone. It has several fridges, a dishwasher, microwave, gas stove and oven, air fryer, espresso machine, KitchenAid mixer, pressure cooker, plenty of cookware, and lots of storage.
There’s also a garage that we use for bike storage, hobbies, and small projects, with tools on hand. Parking is available on the street.
The room:
-About 19 m² (204 sq ft)
-Comes unfurnished, though you may be able to arrange to keep some pieces from the current occupant
-Has a closet and a window, which was replaced this year with a better-insulated one
Who we are:
We’re a friendly group of professionals from academia and industry. We keep the shared spaces cozy and tidy, enjoy a home-cooked meal together now and then, and respect each other’s schedules and privacy. We also have a corgi puppy, who joined us in September 2025. She’s sweet, loves meeting people, and is always up for cuddles (photo of her napping attached).
Terms:
-Rent: $1,790 per month
-Utilities: around $100 per month per person
-Security deposit: $1,000
-Long term lease (>12 months) preferred
-No smoking indoors
